Much of the concern over Susan's parents is that her suspected father, Archibald Logsden, appeared to leave Pennsylvania in the mid-1830s. Therefore, it is currently suspected that she had resided with another family in the 1840 census, along with her known sister Catherine. The following table was constructed of people in South Huntingdon Township in 1840 who had two listed individuals for Susan and Catherine at the right ages (one 10-14 years and one 15-30 years):
